Bio

Mira Riselli (she/her) is an emerging bassist, composer and educator based in Toronto, ON. Her work spans multiple genres, including Jazz, Rock, Pop and Musical Theatre.

Mira was raised in Calgary, Alberta, where her love of jazz was fostered by her involvement in jazz bands in middle school, high school and the JazzYYC Youth Lab Band.

In 2016, Mira moved to Toronto to complete her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto on Upright Bass and graduated in 2020. She recently completed the program requirements for the University of Toronto Master of Music in Jazz Performance and will graduate in June 2022.

In 2020, Mira was the recipient of the University of Toronto Ken Dean Memorial Fellowship, a University of Toronto Leadership award, and the winner of the NUMUS Emerging Improvisor contest. She has performed at numerous venues across Calgary and Toronto, including The Ironwood, Kawa Café, and the King Eddy in Calgary, as well as The Rex, the Emmet Ray, and the TRANZAC in Toronto.
